Building snow caves at Glen Alps - 2003

We got situated and set up camp

We hauled our gear in on sleds and set up camp,
and had a quick snack before the fun began.

It was one BIIIIIG snowdrift we tackled,
can you imagine how hard that snow was?

In Alaska the deeper you dig, the bluer it gets.
I'll give a Troop Buck (a Snickers bar) to the scout who
can explain that phenomenon to me!



A nice warm fire at the end of the day...
it doesn't get any better than this.

A nice hot breakfast with reindeer sausage and cocoa,
and we're ready for the hike home.
